Advanced Airsoft problem?

On my dads MP5, theres a sh*tstorm happening in the gearbox, semi-auto is full auto, occasionally turning into safety, pulling the trigger does nothing, maybe one shot before nothing as if the fuse is broken, and when it used to shoot, it would shoot a few shots, then dry fire, then would push out a few bbs about 10 feet, then repeat. I assume there is something wrong in the selector switch (on the gearbox) and the connections related to it. 10 points to anyone that helps.

Hmmm... I used to own an echo 1 mp5 and it had similar problems. I don't think your selector switch is broken, rather your gear box has burnt out.

The lack of responsiveness in the trigger does sound like a fuze may have blown, but the semi-auto acting as full auto and dry-firing issues makes me think the gearbox is either:

1.) out of tuned- this could make the gun uncalibrated and cause the fire rate to no longer match the rate that the gun is being fed via the magazine... If your have the right tool you can adjust the tuning of the gearbox via port in the pistol grip.

2.) your gearbox is burned out- this would cause lack of responsiveness from the gearbox and lead to functioning issues... you could take the gearbox apart and try to replace the individual broken pieces, or replace the whole gearbox.

If you can, take the gun to a local airsoft shop. They would probably be able to diagnose and fix the problem for you.

    hope this helps
