Is it unfair or us it just me?

Question

I'm almost 18 and my boyfriend is almost 20 and we're having a baby. We went for our first ultrasound the other day and we weren't told anything, even when we saw it's face :( We think it's because we're young, alot of people don't approve but we know we love eachother and are ready for it. The thing that makes me angry though is she didn't tell us the sex or even give us our photos of our baby :( Should we make a complaint or is there no point.?

Forgot to add I am 26 weeks, didn't find out till I was around 23 weeks because I was taking the pill and skipping the sugar pills :)

Well if this is your first ultrasound you won't be finding out the sex of the baby just yet. As far as the pictures I would ask them about it. That can't just not tell you anything no matter what your age I mean you are legal so they have to tell you something like how the baby is doing etc.... I would say something.

I would complain or demand respect. That's rude and a patient shouldn't be judged or treated any differently regardless of race, age, gender, ect. Did you ask to find out the gender? She needs to lose her job if so, because I found out what the sex of my baby was at 18 weeks and it damn sure would've been clear at 26!

The sonographers (ultrasound techs) are not required to tell you anything. And in some facilities, they're not even allowed to tell you anything about the baby.

Not all places give photos either.

Go to the clinic first before you complain.  Ask them for the info and the pictures.  You are young but you're not that young.
