Anyone took Femara? Positive Results? Bad Side effects?

I have tried clomid and now fixing to start Femara on my next cycle if I don't back out. What have been some side effects that you have noticed right away? Anything life threating? Anyone had positive results from it?

My fertility clinic didn't think I would respond to Clomid (I have PCOS, and apparently some women with it don't do well on Clomid). They suggested Femara, though they did ask if I wanted to try Clomid first. I trusted their opinion. I got pregnant on my second cycle of Femara and hCG trigger. I ovulate on my own, but very late into my cycle, and the eggs tend to be immature.

One thing my clinic said was that Femara has fewer serious side effects than Clomid, but it tends to have good results for ovulation, but not as good as Clomid. I don't know if that's true or not, but I know my follicles didn't get very big. My largest one was at 14mm when I triggered (my body was surging anyway, and Dr thought the trigger might help push my eggs a bit more), but I still got pregnant. It also made me ovulate around CD17, vs CD35+.

Side effects were brutal for me, though. I was massively bloated, I got headaches, hot flashes and nausea. It faded a day or two after I stopped taking the Femara, though. Then I took the trigger shot and they all came back worse and lasted until after I gave birth. I don't think my body likes hCG very much!

I wish you all the best. I know it's not easy putting your body through cycles and cycles of fertility meds, but keep strong. It's very worth it.

    Good luck!
