How is Edward Snowden a traitor?

Snowden revealed information that helped our enemies.

If you support Snowdens actions, then you are an enemy of the USA.

Snowden exposed the act of betraying the Constitution by officials who swear an oath to protect it. Thank God a larger portion of US population does not see him as a traitor. US government, from Congress to President, have taken the American public for a ride. The Patriots Act and NDAA are contrary to the Constitution. The Iraq War was based mainly on the lies and pressures of Israeli government and its agents in US. At least 70% of spying on American people as well as the world was contracted to private firms, mainly associated with Israel. How much intelligence does one need to see this is the real treason, not what Snowden did.

It is foolish to believe that any semi-advanced nation with it's own spying agencies have not already seen any information that Snowden could give them.

The only outrage by our government is that a high school dropout outsmarted and embarrassed all of the "educated" elites who head the Obama Administration and the NSA and exposed their secrets to the only ones who didn't already know..............the American people......the targets of the revealed spy program.

The Russians and the Chinese were delighted with the exposure of this information simply because it provided the American public with proof that although the US Government has condemned their governments for decades for closely monitoring their citizenry , it is spying on it's own citizens in the exact same manner.

"The Land of the Free" has been warped into a most hypocritical description of America by our own government.

It seems to me that he is upholding the highest traditions of the American people and their constitution by exposing those who corruptly abuse their power to undermine the essential values of the USA.

Any nation that wants others to adhere to its values has to set a good example.

What Mr Snowden exposed was wrong, illegal, corrupt, anti-social, dishonest and a threat to all that free people around the world hold dear. Perhaps we should applaud his bravery and his attempts to defend the highest standards of conduct by those we elect and those we employ at public expense.

He exposed wrongdoing against the American people (and others) that even America's worst enemies could not have achieved.

If a teacher exposes a child-abusing colleague, is he being a traitor or a hero?

We have to decide what sort of world we want to live in and whether the values that underpin our respective nations are worth defending. I happen to think they are.

Snowden's traitorous actions equal those of the British traitor Paul Revere.

People think he is a traitor because he leaked out information about the public which could harm their safety because now terrorists knows what the US is up to so now they will seek different ways to communicate e.g. mail so they aren't spied on

Because he is making Obama look just like every President we've ever had. Liberals and Obama simply cannot stand that fact.

Traitor is just a word his opponents use to scare people into their way of thinking, you can't be a traitor if you believe you are trying to help America or Americans regardless if you think he is not helping America or Americans

Only an American could be this bright.

Snowden leaked info about Americas security. when the information is out its out and everyone can use it be them the American public (his intended target apparently) but they are also available to terrorists and enemies of USA. by making his findings public he has compromised American security..the safety of the very people he was trying to inform and enlighten.
