How can "we the citizens" help Detroit?
Surely something can be done to help with the poverty,crime,housing. Are there young people who would love to get out of there and start a new life but have no place to go or the money to do so? It seems to me they are fighting for survival. Taken out of that environment they would be safer and could raise a family without bullets flying past their heads. I would not be afraid to help a young decent family.

I'm from a nice suburb 30 minutes away from Detroit, and it is not as bad as people say. The reasons why there is so many deaths is because that is all gang related, yeah you have the possibility to get robbed or to get your car stolen but that danger is present in any area. If you really want to help a family get out of Detroit help them out, get them good jobs, help with grocers tutor their children.
