What if a black man shot a white teen?

Look up the story of Roderick Scott. Why didn't this get nationwide attention? I think the better question is if big media is trying to stir up racial hatred.

Update:

The guy who shot the 13 year old kid was convicted and deserves to go to jail. This was carried by big news media.

Trayvon committed a crime when he attack GZ. It is a crime to physically attack someone just because they ask a question, or they are following you.

The white parents of the killed 17 year old also went to the press and tried to get media attention. Very few people ever heard of this case. It is very similar to the TM/GZ story.

I wonder when I'm instructed to research to prove anothers' point to myself, but I made the effort anyway. Some major differences. The victim (or perp) was in the midst of a criminal act. Trying to break into car outside his home. RS was arrested immediately.

The BETTER question is why is the denial of white privilege in our justice system so prevalent?

And why do people rush to find excuses for the presumption of guilt based on racial suspicion that GZ demonstrated?

Another major difference is that white people expect that privilege to prevail in our court system.

    (see bottom link below)

Which is why one has to search back 2 years to find a case that involves a black man being acquitted- and amidst public outcry over his acquittal.

Because it is the EXCEPTION to the rule- not the "norm".

Anecdotes do not address the GZ case though.

The criminalization of the young black man shot by Z is exaggerated.

The history of racial profiling by GZ is ignored. (46 calls to police in 8 years- all about blacks- even a 9 year old!) are ignored.

Z had opportunities to retreat, and put himself deliberately in what he characterized as being "in fear for his life". His choice to be there.

RS was sitting on his couch.

But this case has opened up a constructive dialogue about institutional racism in America that is long overdue. The feared nationwide massive riots in the streets haven't occurred.

Instead we are left to try to work this out with our thoughts and words.

Black people always make a huge deal when there fellow "brothas" get shot listen if u step up to a cop that has the right to use deadly force if felt threatened You WILL get shot to death wether your old young black white whatever you are you will die so quit making a big deal about it whensome ****** dies cause he thought he can take on the law. And what about all the white people that die every year unarmed also? You dont see us destroying everything Iin our path and looking for a way to get rich because "dats rracist"... and for the 2 black people that recently died from cops it is unfortunate but thats what you get when you fight the law. This is america people your lucky it can be alot worse . Grow up and get off your high horses otherwise you will keep getting shot down you will never win as long as your in america.... fact! Why didn't the Darius Simmons case get nationwide attention?.

A 13 year old Black kid shot by a grown White Man in front of his

Mother. The media are very selective about what they choose to

distribute and magnify to the masses...and Yes, I do believe it is

to stir up racial tension, just look at what they are doing with Blacks

    and Hispanics right now.

@ Marco.. I said NATIONWIDE. Not one website and one news outlet.

It hasn't even got half the same coverage as the Travyon case has. And

that is because the media is selective about what they distribute and magnify

to the masses. I don't know why White People act like it's just their stories of

being victims to crimes that go unpublished to the nation and world when

there are also Black victims who's stories go unpublished to the nation and world.

But as I said, it comes down to what the media chooses to selectively publish.

Anyone who pays attention knows that it would be perfectly alright, and that you wouldn't hear a word from Jesse Jackson, Al "Bozo The Clown" Sharpton, Maxine Waters, or any of the other nutjobs who have actually made whining into a career. And the news media tends to remain dead silent about Black-on-White crimes. Some years ago in the Los Angeles California area, some Blacks attacked some White women on Hallowe'en. Little was made of it, though. NO ONE referred to those Blacks as "racists" and NO ONE called it a "hate crime." But if it had been the other way around, if some Whites had attacked some Black women, it would have been in the papers all over the world. Why? It sells papers. Same with the TV news. Whatever will bring their ratings up -- that's what they want. And so of course the media is trying to stir up racial hatred - there's money in it. LOTS of money. That's why Hearst played up the Zoot Suit riots in the 1940s -- that is, his papers published articles about the zoot suiters in order to get the public outraged and finally a bunch of sailors rented cabs in the harbor area, went to the East L.A. area and began beating up Mexicans and anyone who looked like a zoot suiter, and Hearst, of course, cashed in, selling thousands (millions?) of newspapers. The media doesn't care about truth in the least. So right now it's cashing in on the "victim" role they cast the Blacks in. There ARE Blacks who don't like that, but you're not going to hear from them: It would interfere with the sale of newspapers and magazines and who needs THAT, right? ...

I have never heard of that story, but I know one thing for sure. Anyone who killed another human being should go to jail for the rest of their life or be executed, being white, black, asian, hispanic.. that doesn't matter! They don't deserve to live among decent people.

That's a very unique story because usually a black person is arrested immediately and convicted.

    http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2013/07/19/233148...

Perhaps he was found innocent because the boys were actually committing a crime and Scott told them not to move because he had a firearm, not sure.

People like you really need to learn their facts.

When Trayvon first died the police wanted to sweep it under a rug. They didn't even make a rush to let the father know that his son was dead. That wasn't their first priority.

When Trayvons parents found out that their son was killed they didn't think it was fair how it was being swept under the rug. They weren't gettin clear answers on their sons death. They found it odd that he would just go, and start a random fight with a guy he didn't know in a neighborhood he didn't know. No matter how bad you are you know not to go start fights with people you don't know in their territory. Trayvon wasn't a thug. Someone told me he was a thug for trying to protect himself.

Then the parents started to protest, and THAT caught the media attention. Even though Zimmeman was found not guilty if the media would've have never shun light on it Zimmerman would've immideatly been found not guilty, and walk away with no one knowing that he shot a black kid, and he'd probably go and shoot another kid

Oh and when a black person kills a non black person, especially a white person they ARE going to be found guilty even if they were trying to protect themselves.

Black people generally don't get away with murder.....It wasn't just about the fact that it was a black teen, it was a big deal because the police let zimmerman go home after he killed trayvon.

Plenty of murder cases happen all the time. It just depends on timing and which cases are seen by the media.

Because Al Sharpton isn't running this one into the ground and race-baiting. He took up this Zimmerman case, which police could see from the start was legally self defence and made it a race thing. He pulled the same injustice with the Tawana Brawley case and got sued for it later.

What is controversial has nothing to do with the racial aspect of the case, or the "injustice"s that occured. It's all about what is broadcasted and blown out of proportion by sick men with an agenda.
