Can someone please explain the ending of Evil Dead 2013 ??
SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't understand the ending, how did the abomination rise? I thought it needed 5 souls plus I thought once Mia was cleansed it was over, If had just ended with the brother setting the cabin on fire I would have been fine, also how did she manage to kill it so easily I thought it would be tougher.

Yes, killing the abomination demon was easier than expected. Plus the abomination itself was kinda disappointing. It is was it is. I just went with it. But as to how it came to rise, along with the raining blood(so cool, btw ), it did need five souls; and it got them. Mia was the first, and the rest followed. Her brother did set the cabin on fire, but though it's not showed, he is infected too and therefore his soul is taken along with the others. He was the fifth.
Mia was saved but it claimed her soul, nevertheless. Even though she apparently got it back, the abomination got what it needed to rise anyway.
I may be wrong but I've seen this movie several times now, and thats what I took from it. Some movies you watch, it's better to not ask too many questions. It's not like Christopher Nolan directed it...

Mia's soul was saved when her brother buried her alive, but the other four died without dying by one of the three ways described in the book (burning to death, being buried alive, or being completely dismembered. (Natalie was only partially dismembered, Olivia's body was only burned after she was killed, and Mia's brother must have been killed by the force of the explosion before he could burn to death.)) The fifth soul (or rather, the first of the five) was the girl from the beginning. She was shot before she could burn to death. Her father thought he could end her pain as soon as she started burning, but by shooting her before the fire was finished, he sent her to Hell where burning forever is the least of her agonies. :-( If Mia's brother had succeeded in reviving her, she would not really have died, and still would have been possessed. Since he could not revive her, that meant she was resurrected, and that is why she no longer had any injuries. If the girl from the beginning, Olivia, Natalie, Eric, or David had been purified, they too would have been resurrected, and they were not. Thus they are all in Hell :-( Oh, and dogs do have souls, but all dogs go to Heaven.
