Why has Gangnam Style lost about 40 million views recently?
Just wondering. It went from about 1,746,000,000 back to 1,702,000,000 or so.

Every now and then YouTube analyzes where views come from. If they see signs of bots or other activity that violates their terms of service, they remove those views. I would assume that is what happened it this case.
When you have way over a billion views, 40 million is nothing. I have a video stuck at 301 while YouTube does the same sort of analysis.
