Is it legal to drive a go kart on roads with cars?

So if I have a go kart that is fast enough to do the speed limit is it legal for me to drive it on roads? (I live in North Carolina)

    I guess you could if you would make it street-legal (lights, turn signals, safety belts, etc.). I'd first check with your NC DMV to be sure. BTW, you can get a speeding ticket if you go over the speed limit (even on a bicycle!)

    Golf Carts & Go Carts have no mirrors , no lights, & no seatbelts. Most city ordinances ban them from city streets.
