Why was Trayvon Martin not charges with assault?

Why was Trayvon Martin never charged posthumously with assault? Where is Zimmerman's justice?

Update:

@LittlePrincess - that is false. There are many people who have been posthumously charged with crimes.

Update 2:

@Meg - Yeah, besides the witness, the lacerations on the back of Zimmerman's head, Zimmerman's broken nose, the blood all over the sidewalk, there is no evidence of assault, right!?

Umm whats he gonna do? He obviously can't serve a sentence, he's already paid the ultimate price. But for Zimmerman to even be put on trial was stupid in my opinion. The way Zimmerman can get his justice is if he sues the pants off of Florida state, because he was wrongly accused of murder. Seriously, I wonder if some of these people rioting on the streets even know what they're rioting for! Zimmerman was a neighborhood watch guy, alright? He was in patrol one evening when a hooded young black male was walking to his dads house. (Keep in mind the reason Zimmermans neighborhood HAD a patrol was because a series of break-ins had occurred in the area, mainly by young black males.) Zimmerman, and rightfully so, decides to see just exactly what Martin was up to. Around that time Trayvon calls his friend, and tells her there's some "creepy ***

cracker" following him, and she tells him to "woop his ***" or something like that I'm not entirely sure. During his call, Trayvon had failed to realize just how close Zimmerman had gotten to him. So basically Martin tries to ditch Zimmerman (looking rather suspicious while doing so), a scuffle insues, Martin pummels Zimmerman, nearly to death, Zimmerman pulls out a gun, pulls the trigger, pushes Martin off of himself, and scurries away.

Source(s): I actually followed the freaking trial.

There was no proof he assaulted Zimmerman that a jury would believe beyond reasonable doubt so he would not have been charged even if Zimmerman had not killed him.

Edit He had a right to stand his ground and confront the creepy guy that hat been following him and knock him down if he feared he would be harmed. That is not assault in FL, he was under no obligation to run. Zimmerimans injuries are no better proof of assault than the hole in Trayvon¨s heart is proof of murder.

Simple. Criminal cases are against a person, not against an estate. As far as I know, Trayvon's estate could still be sued for some sort of compensation but, since he's the one who died, killed by the probable plaintiff, it really does sound like one of the most reprehensible examples of suit-happy Americans. These are among the worst kind of Americans. Not to mention if he did sue, there would be hardly an estate to collect upon. The boy had very little to his name and the estate is probably already been handled and is probably at zero.

    Posthumously charged...

Now that is a new one for the books. About as good as the crap that Zimmerman acted in "self defense".

NAME ONE WHO HAS BEEN CHARGED AFTER DEATH... THEY CANNOT HAVE A TRIAL, YOU KNOW.

Although.. enough persons in the country have charged and convicted Martin in their minds, ignoring the fact that he cannot speak for himself.

Zimmerman should have stayed in his truck.

Despite what you claim, a dead person cannot be charged with a crime. A defendant has the Constitutional right to confront his accusors. Since a dead person cannot do so, he cannot face criminal charges.

Even if it could be done, it's a waste of time & money which serves no purpose. The point of charging someone criminally is hold someone accountable for their actions. A dead person can't be punished, can't be rehabilitated, can't be held accountable.

Because there is NO PoINT in posthumous charges. They are dead, so they can't be punished. Besides nobody with a brain cares about that rubbish.

According to some folks, the verdict proved Martins guilt.

For all you ultra Libs out their, Zimmerman was found not guilty in a court of law. I hate how him being black automatically makes it a racial debate.

Dead people cannot be charged with a crime.
