but not the oven,,I tore into it,,no loose wires on ignite'r,,,if I switched the broiler ignite'r with bottom ignite'r,, would it work to trouble shoot problem,,or waste of time,,?

Swapping the igniters is a good idea. Just be careful not to break them. They can be fragile. Better yet, why not just observe the igniter and have someone turn the oven on. If the igniter doesn't glow bright orange then it's dead. They last from five to seven years typically. Sometimes longer, depending on how much use they get.
But the first thing I thought of when reading your question and before I got to the end I was already suspecting a failed igniter.
