Why most pedestrians don't stop for moving cars in parking lots?

As I shook my head in great disappointment while backing out of where I was parked when people could see my car moving and didn't bother to stop ( they just kept walking so I could hit them), I thought I would visit the most beloved, if not the most knowledge-sharing website, to ask the question:

Q: Why most pedestrians don't yield to moving vehicles in the parking lot?

I have came very close to hitting or running over kids accompanied by adults while backing out of the parking lot because they would walk straight into my way, and majority of the intentionally.

If you are one of those people who value your life less in the parking lot, can you please explain your reasons for not yielding to moving objects?

Yeah, if a car is backing up, there's a chance they won't see you - very stupid to walk behind the car. I get that. Obviously they have the right away, but do they have common sense? For all other instances in the parking lot other than backing up, people rightfully so have the right away.

I saw a lady in Baltimore stop and yield as she was walking in a parking lot for our car.

Because pedestrians always have the right of way. It is up to you to swerve and slam on your brakes to avoid hitting them.

    Pedestrians have the right-of-way.

Source(s): Drivers need to be extra careful backing out like any pedestrian needs to watch where they are going and get off their cell phones!

pay more attention next time. there was 2 of you only one of you had the blind spot. and it to late to do anything. you can report it to the police, some guy hit my car. but just as soon as you tell them what happened it will be forgotten. you should have for confronted him then, or go on and forget about it and pay more attention.

They are likely not paying attention.
