Can I apply for dual citizenship if my grandmother was Canadian?

I once heard that if you have a relative within three generations you could?

You must have been born to a parent who was a Canadian citizen at the time of your birth to have any birthright to Canadian citizenship. Forget Grandma. Irrelevant.

No, only a handful of countries allow citizenship to descend twice from parent to child & from grandparent to grandchild, Canada is definitely NOT one of them

Canada recognizes dual citizenship in certain circumstances. I don't know if the US does..
