What happens to infants when they die?
According to the bible, nobody is without sin, and presumably that includes infants. However, a baby is not old enough to accept Jesus or even know who that is, and therefore cannot be saved. But would a loving god really allow a BABY to go to hell?

This is a GREAT video on past beliefs on this subject.
It just shows how modern Christians think they got it right, when in reality just about every type of Christianity thought they got it right!

A baby is not old enough to know right from wrong they are with Jesus.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14 NIV

Let's review what the Bible says about the condition of the dead:
Ecclesiastes 9:5:
“The living are conscious that they will die;
but as for the dead, they are *conscious of nothing* at all.”
Psalms 146:4:
“His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; in that day his *thoughts do perish*.”
The Bible shows that *death itself* is payment for sins:
“For the wages sin pays is DEATH.”---Romans 6:23a
“For he who has died has been *ACQUITTED* from his sin.”---Romans 6:7
Genesis 3:19:
“In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground,
for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and *to dust* you will return.”
Ecclesiastes 9:10:
“All that your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol [“the grave”], the place to which you are going.”
So, our loving God does NOT send *ANYONE* to 'eternal torment'!
'Hellfire' is of *pagan* origin, and was adopted by the early Catholic church to help them in their efforts to recruit more pagan believers to become their followers & financial supporters.

scripture does not comment upon eternal fates of infants but surely God would not subject them to suffering
that is entirely out of character
