family of 4 going to Disney...?
Our 6 day and 5 night Disney trip is quickly approaching, and I am in need of advice on how much money a family of 4, (babies ages 5 & 2) should take with us. We have been told to purchase our park tickets at the hotel, as they have discounted tickets. We are also planning on only eating out once a day. I will need all advisors to take into consideration that we will be grocery shopping so go ahead and bank on 100-150$ for that and include that w/total app amounts. Thanks so much in advance for all the help :)) God Bless :))

Hotels do not have discounted Disney tickets. It sounds like you are staying off Disney property - be careful about tickets you purchase through anyone other than Disney. If you are in fact staying at Disney then you will be able to purchase legit tickets there, but not at any discount. I'd buy them ahead of time so that you're not dealing with the hassle when you get there.
Really, the amount can vary quite a bit. Is that meal out going to be at Disney, or outside of Disney? Is it going to be a quick-service (fast food) meal or a table-service (sit down) meal? Or even a character meal? You can expect to spend $8-12 for adults and $5-8 for kids at quick-service; $15-25 for adults and $8-12 for kids at table-service; and $35+ for character meals. Breakfast and lunch are usually cheaper than dinner. Eating outside the parks is cheaper, but quite a hassle IMO. Your 2-year-old could eat off your plate at most places - portions tend to be pretty large. So you'll have to figure out your budget based on your planned meals.
If you are staying offsite and needing to drive yourself to the parks, then you'll pay $14 a day to park at Disney. And honestly, it would be worth it to do so, because most of the offsite shuttles are horribly inconvenient and unreliable. You don't get near as much park time using them, still have to walk quite a way to get to the park gates, and are bound by their schedules. That is a HUGE perk of staying onsite at Disney - free transportation that is convenient and reliable.
Souvenirs are up to you. You can spend nothing or you can spend hundreds. T-shirts start around $20 for kids' shirts and $25 for adults; stuffed animals start around $15; mugs start around $10; magnets and keychains can be found for $5... You can find plenty of reasonably priced souvenirs, but can also spend quite a bit. Totally what you can afford. I'd pick an amount that you're willing to spend on souvenirs and budget that money for them.
You didn't give enough information to give a total, because it can still depend on so many factors. I would guess that you should take around $100-150 a day, after your grocery and ticket money. But you might spend more or less depending on things like the types of meals, souvenirs, and parking.

No legitimate hotel ever sells Disney World discounted tickets. They may be offering a "discount" if you are eligible and sit through an endless sales program for a time share. No little kiosks out side the parks, sells cheap tickets. You must buy your tickets like the rest of us- directly from Disney or from a 100% authorized agent. If you are a member of AAA or military you may receive a few $ off. IF you are a bonafide Florida resident and purchase for more than three days, you will receive Florida resident's prices. Don't even dream of buying through Ebay or Craig'slist. You will pay good money for worthless pieces of paper. You might know that Disney permits you to bring into the parks certain amounts of food and beverages. No- glass - no alcohol. no picnic type luncheons. Staying outside the Disney complex, does not always mean you will save money. Every day parking fees and a real hassle to get in and out of the parks. If you do not drive then it is either can fares or very unreliable shuttle service from some hotels.

Hotels DO NOT have discounted Disney theme park tickets.
Disney resorts have Disney theme park tickets you can get at the front desk. They are the same price on the Disney web site and at the gates.
I have not heard of off property hotels selling Disney theme park tickets. if they do, they are NOT at a discounted price. DIsney keeps a tight hold on their tickets and pricing. You can get a very slight discount from AAA and being a Florida resident.
If you are at a hotel off site it can take you up to 40 minutes to get out of the park and drive back to your hotel. Even staying at a Disney resort it can take you a good 30 minutes to get back to your resort from a theme park.
You are going to need to eat one meal at Disney and buy drinks though out the day. to eat at a counter serve restaurant at Disney, plan on at least $35 for the four of you. Bring lots of snacks for all of you.
Does your hotel have mini fridge in the room. Check the price for one. I can see eating breakfast before you go if you can store milk, but not sure how you are going to do dinner in your hotel room.

It's best to buy the tickets from little booths outside of the hotel, around the area but you can also buy it from the hotels. It's cheaper!
Basically, the further you are from Disneyland, the cheaper it will be. We stayed at a motel, about 30 minutes away and we drove to the parks and stayed their the whole day. The hotels nearby are pretty expensive. We also grocery shopped and we saved a lot.
I don't know how much it was because I didn't pay but we are also a family of 4. But even little things like ice cream cones and small souvenirs were quite expensive in the parks but as soon as you go out to the local areas, they are very cheap!

ticket prices are the same no matter when or where you buy them.
unless you have a 1 bedroom or better room, you will not have facilities to cook in it,and the fridges are not fridges at all( and have been removed from many resort hotels.
