are brain shunts permanent already? as in, it will stay forever in your brain?
and if you have a shunt in your brain, you really have to undergo brain surgery every 10 years for cleaning of the shunt?

Yes, most likely the shunt is forever. The 10 year time line...It may need revision much sooner.
