Zimmerman was just LUCKY - like OJ?
.. lucky that the State could not PROVE that he acted with malice and criminal intent. In watching the closing arguments, the whole focus was on REASONABLE DOUBT and I'd have to say the case gave me reasonable doubt because the most critical factor = WHO STARTED THE FIGHT between Zimmerman and Martin was never mentioned. The State simply could not convince me that Zimmerman acted with malice (even though I believe he did!) so the jury had to vote for acquittal - NOT INNOCENCE - acquittal - just like with OJ! Did you believe OJ was innocent? The jury never said that he is INNOCENT - it said "we have reasonable doubts so we must acquit" which is quite different than saying he is innocent (in both trials!). Zimmerman is CONSIDERED innocent until proven guilty and the State couldn't prove him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. He LUCKED OUT, IMO.

He probably did luck out on the trial, but I still believe Martin had given him suspicion to follow him and the 911 dispatcher has no authority so that doesn't even matter. I believe that Martin did attack Zimmerman and asked if he was ready to die. That is considered reasonable threat of death or great bodily harm and Florida has a castle doctrine which states that if someone intends to use deadly force to against you then you can do the same back. But we don't know the whole truth because Zimmeerman is the only living eye-witness of the event. To be honest, I don't understand why people are still butthurt over this when similar murders happen everyday in this country.

He had to shoot a thug to save his life, got arrested even though the police did not want to arrest him, had to go to trial even though the local DA did not want to prosecute him, has every race baiter in the country after him, and on top of that, Eric Holder is still "investigating" a possible federal charge. That is not very lucky.
