I don't think there's anything wrong with you at all, everything is crazy expensive these days! You are just being cautious and thinking ahead.

If you want to buy new clothes but don't want to spend the money hit up the thrift stores or upscale resale shops. You can get lucky and find some awesome pieces- some with the tags still on- for cheap!

To cut costs on gifts, make them! Pinterest has tons of ideas!

With wedding items buy used as well. On Craigslist you can find pretty much everything you need from dishes to centerpieces to decor and more that someone has bought and is selling just to try and earn a bit of their money back, which can give you items that were only used once (and in this decade) at a fraction of the cost!

There is nothing irrational or wrong about being afraid of being without resources. If someone is calling you a "cheapskate", ask them if they would be willing to help you financially if you run out of cash.

You can buy clothing inexpensively at stores like Goodwill and the Salvation Army. You just have to look around for it. They have some good stuff at a small fraction of the price charged at new clothing stores. And sometimes the quality of the merchandise is better than it would be at those other stores.

Saving money is good but in your case it is getting a little bit too much. You are depriving yourself from many things because of your fear that the future can come up with bad things and you have to be prepared .. half of your thinking is wise and the other half is foolish. Buy schemes, invest on insurances and still spend on ur self, give 10-20% of your salary to savings and the rest spend on ur self... buy new clothes , go on vacation and live your life cause u never know when you are going to die and at least enjoy before that day come and what's the use of trying to save a life which you are not living

if you don't feel many urges to save money consider that a blessing.

I skimmed all that you said and it sounds more like you're frugal .
