Which video player will play a .mp4 file?
These days, so many of the videos I download from youtube are in .mp4 format. But I am not able to play them using VLC media player, real player or windows media player. I have tried downloading various so called MP4 video players but none of them worked. Is there any other software or video player you can tell me about that will play these files? I do not want to have to convert them to some other format before playing as it takes too much of time and I am not able to find a proper video converter either. they all have restrictions to usage unless you pay some money or the converted video ends up having no sound at all. Please suggest a suitable MP4 video player.

The MP4/H.264 format is a standard for web delivery these days and most video players should be able to play them. The VLC player can certainly play them...

If they are not working for you the file may have been damaged during the download or contain some other formatting that is preventing it from playing.

YTD is a youtube video downloader and converter and i think there is a problem with your computer restore it to a time when everything was working if that doesn't work right click on your downloaded video hit properties the video should not be less than 2.5MB if it is then it is not downloading right and almost all the video players you used can play mp4 files

You just need the Codecs not another player. First make sure VLC player is the latest two flower version and download the codecs, both 64 and 32 bit ones if you have a 64 Bit OS. http://codecguide.com/download_k-lite_codec_pack_m...
