Which video player will play a .mp4 file?
These days, so many of the videos I download from youtube are in .mp4 format. But I am not able to play them using VLC media player, real player or windows media player. I have tried downloading various so called MP4 video players but none of them worked. Is there any other software or video player you can tell me about that will play these files? I do not want to have to convert them to some other format before playing as it takes too much of time and I am not able to find a proper video converter either. they all have restrictions to usage unless you pay some money or the converted video ends up having no sound at all. Please suggest a suitable MP4 video player.

I don't see why any of the players you've mentioned are not able to do so. I could play mp4 in them all fine, particularly VLC. You sure its nothing wrong with the file itself you are trying to play?
You could try passing them through a converter like Format Factory to see if that makes a difference.
