How do I run longer and faster?
I'm 16-years-old, 5'8 and I am training for the 200m and 400m as well as cross-country. I never ran before because of health issues, but now my doctor says I can participate in sports. So any helpful advice would be appreciated.

your heart and lower body is the key doing legs exercises will do for the first few days then you can move on to jogging for long durations as much as you can remeber not to push yourself to the limit yet, After atleast 3 weeks of this you'll try to run as fast as you can for as long as you can

Push a little harder each time. Building up endurance. But don't overdo it so quickly.
