Why did this happen to my cell phone?

So I was trying to charge my phone up fast and I saw something on Facebook saying that if you put it in the Microwave for a few seconds that it would fully charge. So I did such and suddenly I saw electricity and a loud crackling sound inside the micro. Well I got frightened and stopped the darn thing and well my phone was messed up. I had no charged phone, no phone at all! So like does this trick only happen to certain types of phones? Mine was an iphone, maybe that's why I'm thinking...
