My grandmother has two social security numbers and worked under both, will she be required to report both to social security to collect her retirement or just the last one? thank you.

Since what she will receive from social security is based upon what she's paid into the social security program she'd better advise them of this fact if they don't already know it. Otherwise if she gets credit for her earnings only under one number her monthly benefit amount will be lower than what it should be.
The average retirement claims takes about 14 days to process; this could possibly increase the processing time on her claim by several months.
Do NOT call social security about this; there is absolutely nothing they can do about it over the phone until the claim is filed. You would just be wasting their time. They will take care of the issue when she files her claim. She can call 1-800-772-1213 to make an appointment to file for benefits either over the phone or in the office. If she makes an appointment to handle this via the phone she needs to point this out to the interviewer when they call her at the appointed time to file the claim.

So you have this very important question about Social Security and you chose to ask random Yahoo users INSTEAD of asking the experts who work for the SS Administration.
gawd, you're an idiot.
