Affiliating yourself with a group does not make you peaceful, just like going to church doesn't make you a good person. Look at Islam for example, they are a nation of peace yet there are extremists who kill to prove how peaceful they are. I am Mormon and I know a lot of really nice peaceful mormons but there are also some nut jobs that I would not want to be alone with ever. It all depends on the person definitely not on the group.

People are too diverse to categorize them in this way. Some of the kindest people I've ever met were Christians, but the same goes for some of the most despicable human beings to ever walk earth.

I'm curious why this question is directed at atheists and christians.
Who would claim any group outside of their own affiliation to be the most peaceful?

Atheists and Humanists come in tied for first place.

I'm an Eastern Orthodox... The choice is difficult, but I think I'd go for Amish. Or pretty much any religion that was never in the place of secular power. Which would pretty much exclude atheism, or even my own religion for that matter.
