is it just me or this this new Yahoo email really bad?

Yahoo Classic, or its earliest version, came out in 1997, or so I have read.

I agree whole-heartedly with you. The new version is terrible, and Yahoo knows it has big problems with it, otherwise we would see comments accepted in their "Feedback" which does not accept any.

As to computers, we all should be able to operate this "upgrade" or "downgrade" depending upon who is doing the looking. All of us. That includes the thousands of us who cannot use it.

I WILL NOT upgrade as I will not use that washed out version of a Mobile Mail, with no contrast and none of the capabilities that made Classic such a joy.

I have been told so many different things by TECH's including "change your browser", "change your computer","you have upgrade", and a few kinder, more reasonable things, like from an ATT Tech, who told me that Yahoo was scrambling to try to make the upgrade workable.

We had no problems with "Classic". I was told that they shut down the last "Classic" server on July 9th. The data is still there. If public opinion, and or their stock values suffer because of this cruel joke on a large portion of the Yahoo public, maybe they will bring it back.

I would gladly pay an annual fee for "Classic" since Yahoo is withholding all of my emails and history from the last 8 years hostage. I will not agree to their new terms and conditions, as that is where they will obtain the right to take our privacy away.

I have had several answers removed, so I will simply have to say that I do not know precisely how, if it is even possible, for you to empty your trash.

Have you gone up to your Browser and gone into security to delete cookies, and in the general area, to empty cache, and empty trash, as well as remove your history. I always do that clean-up for my computer when things slow down.

I am on a Mac using Safari, and have loved the Yahoo "Address Book". "Categories" and general ease of operation.

They brought back Coke, now it is called "Classic Coke".......

I just tried the Yahoo Feedback again. Wasted my time. Got the same message. "Busy, try again later. If they wanted feedback, they would have made the feedback operational instead of not reading the feedback that customers send.

If it is really slow and not opening, you probably need to switch to the Basic version (in the mail settings). The new version uses advanced software only available with the newest operating systems. For example, if using XP and IE8, you need to use the basic mail. The new email is more advanced, but it takes the advanced systems to run it. You might also try a different email client to see if that is better.

I ask myself the same question. I wish someone would answer. I too find the new Yahoo frustrating, annoying, just awful. I stay with it hoping, because Plus allows us to avoid the overwhelming ads of other emails, and because the folder system on Yahoo is the best. But.......I am running out of patience. I keep hoping that if we continue to complain something will change. Good luck.
