Memory can play tricks because of the problem of association.In general, we can trust memory when we are able to recall a data like a photograph. Many times we know that we can't be sure of what we appear to remember. But sometimes, we fall into a trap and trust our memory only to feel embarrassed making us wonder how we could have gone wrong. A secondary source of verification will always help.
