12.5HP B&S I/C engine runs rich. Can someone tell me if ther is an adjustment and how to do it?

There won't be a main jet adjustment. The reason it is running rich is because the float needle valve is not seating and the fuel level is too high in the bowl. The fix is to clean and rebuild the carburetor.

What type of carburetor does your unit have? A model number would also help. You could also get a Service and Repair manual for your unit. B&S had them several years ago and there are some on the used market like Amazon.
