How far is too far for an ob/gyn?

I'm in the process of finding a new ob/gyn (recently moved). I'm wondering.... how far away is too far away when traveling for an ob/gyn? I'd like to go to the one my sister went to in another town, but it is a longish drive. I wouldn't mind the drive for regular visits, but it might be too far if I'm going into labor or need the doc asap. Thoughts?

45 minutes is kind of far. In Alaska, often you see someone that you have to get to by plane or ferry and then move into town for the last four weeks (37 weeks on). I have gone to one in a nearby town that takes 20-30 minutes to get to and that was fine.
