Is this 200 upgrade worth it? (LAPTOP)?
Ok, so I'm looking into buying a new gaming laptop (ASUS ROG XD) since my old one (litterly) fried itself
And I've limited my choices down to to
The first one
8GB DDR3 1600
GeForce GTX 660m
Win8. 64 bits(with 8GB, duhhhh)
I7-3630m 2.4/3.4
1tb HDD 5400rpm (not sure if it's 2x500)
And the second one (+200)
12GB DDR3 1600
GeForce GTX 670m
Win7
I7-3610m 2.3/3.3
1x750hdd 7200rpm
Other than that, they're EXACTLY the same (#2 is simply a newer version of #1 which is ironically newer)
PS I have a spare stick of 8gb ddr3 laptop and an 128ssd from my fried computer
I'm basically asking, is the 200$ improvement worth it? (taking into calculation of my spare parts)
PPS what would you rather have? 0.1GHz improvement? Or a 10% improvement in gpus?
PPPS the gpu is a mxm, but has a strange form factor, so I can always attempt to rig in another mxm gpu
PPPPS:I'm use to DESKTOP specs and component quality, (but not laptops) so get as technical as you want, I'll understand it
PPPPPS: sorry for all the ps-es
@equ -whatever-
Ive personally used every windows OS from 95 to 8.1
I find that 8 signifiicantly hogs less ram when gaming, as well as SSD space and the integrated windows live is useful for windows live enabled games (eg GTA IV)
