What more impressive ? Having the season NFL rushing record or Career NFl rushing record ?

    Career rushing record. .. Just because a player leads the league for a season doesn't always compute to being one of the best all time.. A career leader would be one of the best......

    For me, it is the single-season NFL rushing record. Although the career NFL rushing record is also impressive, breaking the single-season record is much more difficult. There is a reason why the single-season record has not been broken for nearly 30 years.

    To break the single-season record, almost everything has to break the running back's way, for 16 games. Plus, unlike the pursuit of the career rushing record, the season totals do not carry over. If you fall short of the single-season record, you must start over from scratch the following season. At least with the career record, if you fall just short at the end of one season, you can come back to break it the following season.
