How to remove ball lower joints on an '06 Ford Fusion?
I'm on the RF wheel. Bad wheel bearing. Are the lower ball joints threaded in or pressed in, like they 'should' be? Already tried a 'BFH', a pickle fork, both together, no luck. Any ideas?
Micheal, new control arms is probaly what I'm looking at, that's my luck! This thing is diff than what I grew up with! There's two ball joints on the bottom, and of course only one on the top!?!?!?!?!
Rear lower control arm $103.00, Front lower control arm $123.00, these are local prices

Upper are pressed in. There is a retaining clip that must be pulled off if you are trying to get the upper joints out of the control arms. There is a ball joint press tool available to remove them.
The upper ball joint may also be adjustable for Camber/Caster (wheel alignment) Adj. so position matters.
Lower ball joint is likely a unified assembly (replaces with the control arm doesn't come out seperate) $40 to $60 depending on brand.
Probably need a press to get the front bearing out as well unless you change out the complete bearing hub assy.
