History tells us that a man still pursuing his education past age 30 is very unlikely to ever catch it. At age 30 you are presumed to be as well prepared for life as you will ever be. You may have decades still to live, but you only have about 20 more years to build a life and prepare for old age. Yes, it would be foolish to dump a career to chase a dream. You should be building your savings now so you will have funds for a retirement. You have some savings, right? If you don't then you are working for nothing. Now that is stupid.

Theoretically it's nothing wrong in your decision but in practicality it's may be a wrong one. As you are well experienced in what you're doing at present and it will better to go ahead with it for good future. But if you are passionate about medicine sector you may go for it but make sure that you've not to face any financial problem in future. In my view track changing i.e. career changing may be done for sure with free mind about financial worries in coming days. If you are financially good enough to fight financial crisis in future(if it comes to your way by bad luck), proceed with your career changing decision.

No it's not stupid at all. You're only 32. Which means you could live another 70 years. Just plan for contingencies, save your money for emergencies, and execute your plan.
