    Let me clear myself. Example: when I talk I unintentionally use some words much more than usual. For example I use words " well" & "do you know". So sometimes people tell meabout that.

    I'm learning English and I've studied many books. I try to study material which are used in real life not formal vocabularies etc.

    these days I\m studying a book about phrasal verbs but I'm not sure whether they are used in real situations or not. so I decided to write some of them here a a way to measure how much these vers are practical. please let me know if they are used and if not, sugget the synonyms (the real ones)

    some examples:

    1-seal up:

    he sealed up the envelope and wrote the adress on it

    2-see to sb/sth

    we must get that door seen to.

    i'll see to the kids

    3-scrounge somthing up

    4-screen something off

    5-keel over

    I'm so tired i want to keel over and sleep for a week

    6-heal up

    7-hold sth back

    they couldnt hold back their laughter

    hi I am learning English. I am studying a book about phrasal berbs(two word verbs) in English. I'm not sure if these verbs are common and are used in real life conversations or not. please let me know whether they are used or not and if not suggest me the real one.

    fo example:

    1- tag on

    the kids tagged on behind their mother ( cause they were not invited to the party)

    I am 32 years old . I passed university entrance exam in 2000 and I have BA in Business Management. I've worked for a company for 7 years and based on our contract they ccant even fire me. but I've benn thinking about studying Medicine recently.

    2-suppose i am talking about my boss . and he is a cruel man. my friends starts saying good things about the directing manager for examplethat he is better than our boss, he's kind, etc. i want to say that he is the same as our boss . there is no difference between the both of them are not cruel.

    in persian we have something that i translate word by word into english: the yellow dog is the brother of jackal.

    please let me know the proverb or idiom for above situations
