are following vocabularies common in everyday english?
hi I am learning English. I am studying a book about phrasal berbs(two word verbs) in English. I'm not sure if these verbs are common and are used in real life conversations or not. please let me know whether they are used or not and if not suggest me the real one.
fo example:
1- tag on
the kids tagged on behind their mother ( cause they were not invited to the party)
or kate's friend tagged on and spoiled the day.
2- tail back
the road was blocked by accident and traffic tailed back ten miles.
thank you in advance
pleaase let me know where you are from

"Tag along" is better to use than "Tag on", in America at least. Haven't really heard the term "tag on".
I have also not heard the term "Tail back". Usually we just say traffic was "backed up".

"Tag along" is the commonly used phrase. You're going to the movies? May I tag along?
I've never heard the "tail back" phrase except as an American football position. California, USA.

"tail back" is usually a noun - "there is a 10 mile tail back". Quite common, especially with this weather and the state of the roads!
"tag along with" is the usual form.

I'm from America, and this is the first I've heard of these phrases.
