You'll be fine with an Epiphone.
Ignore the people telling you all kinds of different brands. It has a solid body and humbucking pickups. That's all you need to play metal. The rest of the sound is more about the amp and the person playing it.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but if this is your first guitar you're looking to buy you don't play anything yet. You kinda have to HAVE a guitar before you can say you play anything at all.

That guitar is garbage I bought one and sold it a year later it sounds nothing like a les Paul should. Get a bc rich they're pretty good for metal

I would go with it. It's a good price for a starter guitar. Just remember, you can get any sound out of any guitar if you know what you are doing.

For metal first guitar, I would get a cheap Ibanez RG or ESP Ltd. Maybe a cheap Jackson Soloist also.

Les Pauls tend to sound pretty mellow. I think you'd be better off with a strat.
