Tips for High school?
So I'm just starting out high school this fall, and I am so incredibly scared. I have a bit of anxiety which doesn't help the situation at all.
I'm worried I will get lost, get bullied, have no friends etc. All of my closest friends moved away to different cities, so that's the worst. Should I bring a backpack on the first day? I have gym, what should I wear? Ugh I'm so stressed.
Does any one have any tips that will help me survive the 4 years?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Hannah. Don't even worry about it. I promise it's not as bad as people make it out to be. All those rumors about freshman getting bullied by the seniors... well I'd say 9.5/10 times, this just isn't true. It's just a myth. Not saying it doesn't happen at SOME schools but it's a very small fraction. Also, almost EVERY freshman is worried about their first day so they're going through the same exact situation as you so it isn't like you're the only one experiencing this. As for old friends, you won't be seeing them as much so maybe try keeping in contact with them through Facebook, Twitter, texting, etc and dont worry you will make new friends. I promise. There is at least going to be one person (more than one I'd say) at that school that shares your interests so you will make new friends, trust me. I don't really think it would be necessary to bring a backpack on the first day since you most likely wont have any homework or projects to take home on your first day. The first day is just for meeting your new teachers, learning what the class is about, getting acquainted with your classmates and stuff like that. For gym, just wear a t shirt, shorts or capris, and tennis shoes. Don't sweat it. Just go; give it 2-3 days and you won't even remember why you were scared. Trust me, I've been in your situation and I know what you're going through. I was a bit scared just like you but I went and it turns out I was worried for nothing. In fact, I enjoyed it more than middle school. You'll be fine, I promise. Glad to help you Hannah. :)

• Everyone gets new friends in high school. So your friends moving away isn't a big deal, you'll make new ones.
• Keep a map with you so you don't get lost
• You won't get bullied by upperclassman unless you're annoying.
• Bring a backpack if you think you need it, some people bring them, some don't. All you'll do is get a ton of papers.
• In gym most kids wear a t-shirt(any Tshirt will do) and shorts ( like athletic/excersize shorts)
• DO NOT sleep with upperclassman. They don't want to date you, their just using you.
• DO NOT be a slut or you'll be known as a slut for the rest of high school.
• DO NOT be annoying. (you'll be labeled a "stupid freshman" all year)
• You're a freshman not a "freshie"
• DO NOT trust just anyone. In high school rumors travel fast, and people you thought we're your best friends will turn on you fast.
• DO NOT be obsessed with having a boyfriend.
• Don't be offended by being called a freshman, it's what you are. It's not a big deal.
• I'm assuming you're a girl. So ALWAYS keep tampons with you.
• Your grades and classes you take freshman year DO MATTER(some people think they don't) work your *** off or you'll regret it later
Hope that helps! .

EVERYONE who is starting high school next month is going through what you are right now.
Everyone who has EVER gone to high school went through what you are right now.
You will survive. We all did.
Yes bring your backpack.
You should have an opportunity to get your Gym clothes before school starts.
They will notify you of this along with the type of lock you will need.
If they have not then call the school to find out. They are use to questions like that.
Good luck and by the week after school starts you will be a seasoned pro at it.

Top two rules in high school:
1) Be yourself. You're spending three or four years there most likely, so maintaining a fake personality wouldn't be a good thing. This also means being true to yourself and joining school clubs which are in line with your interests, regardless of what other people think of the hobby. This doesn't mean to be stuck-up or pretentious, just be true to your interests, friends, and personality.
2) Focus on your studies, above all else. Remember, you're in school to learn. Breaking rules and partying excessively won't help you much. Making friends and cultivating friendships are important, but it's up to you to decide when to stop and to focus on school.

Highschool not as big of a deal as you think haha first week will be hard just finding stuff and getting use to your schedule but its not that different, if you need alot of books then ya bring a bag, most girls in highschool just use a big purse...donno what there called haha, but for gym just regular workout clothes, first day you probs won't do anything so just see what other people do

Lol this was me last year. It's not like the movies, people could give less a care who you are unless you talk to them, they won't bother you. Have a good reputation because you have to deal with it for four years. Yeah, bring a book bag, it is still school. Nobody runs the school, those kids that claim they do are idiots.
