My running route seems to be getting harder?

A while back I started running 3 mornings a week. I run 3 and a half miles. I started improving and getting better, then suddenly It's started to get harder. It feels harder to complete my run, my legs ache earlier into the run and I get short of breath quicker.

Can anybody explain this?

    You might have a cold or you might be overtraining.

    If you are doing any other exercise, on top of the running, your body will be protesting. Best take a couple of days off, rest up then ease back into it.

    If not, try find another route, the change will do you good, snap you out of this wee plateau and get you back on track.
