Start with an exponential expression. You have a Base, an Exponent and a Number

    B^E=N

With a logarithm, you still have a Base, Exponent and Number, just arranged differently.

log (base B) Number = Exponent

    So looking at the expressions...

    log (base 2) 1/16=-4

    log (base 3) 243 = 5

    log (base 49) 7 = 1/2
