Should I sue for dog attack?
I live in an apartment building with two small dogs(toy poodle and a pomeranian). I went to take them for a walk before work and a woman with a big rotweiler was across the street. the big dog spotted my dogs and broke loose from the woman and ran across the street and grabbed my poodle by the neck and flung it in the air like a stuffed doll.Next it grabbed the pomeranian by the neck and pinned it to the ground.. I then attempted to free my dog and was bitten on the hand and injured my shoulder freeing myself . A bystander came and helped me and my dogs escape. I was told by the animal control staff this vicious dog had a record of two previous attacks in the past 6 months at this apartment complex.My dogs and I survived but so far have over $2,000 in vet and doctors bills plus missed work. I feel the apartment management is partly liable for not evicting at least the dog from this complex. Should I sue them?

Sue the dog's owner. & I'm sure you would have a much more difficult time proving the apartment complex is at fault. It's not like they have to keep records on dogs. A dog is a dog and Idk but I doubt the apartment complex had any knowledge of dog attacks unless the dog has been specifically reported to the complex and other residence don't feel safe being around the dog (which could be the case) but the likelihood of you winning a suite against the apartment complex seems unlikely.

Suing can become timely and costly. A person who puts their dog out in public has responsibility for their pet. To allow it to become loose is irresponsible - and for it to attack your pets is irresponsible. But you put your dogs out there as well. If the apartment complex allows dogs, I'm sure they have to be covered by some type of insurance. You're going to need to contact an attorney to find out if a lawsuit is justifiable. When it comes to pets, some dont see it as we pet owners do. I would be furious! You would probably have to sue both the pet owner and the apartment owners - I really think you need to get an attorneys opinion on this - should get a free consultation.

Yes totally, it is not your fault that you had to pay 2000 dollars for someone not training their dog or taking care of the issue. I would also put the ladies dog down.

Yes, you should. Keep all medical records, as well as all proof. Take pictures of injuries.

consult a lawyer. I was bitten on my schools property by a german shepard and got 4.5k just as a SETTLEMENT.
