Help with Microsoft Word 2007?
Every time I try to download a document the words turn into a bunch of symbols. How can I fix this?

This happens when the "Files of type" setting is set to "Recover Text from Any File." This means when you open your document, only the text is shown, not any of the formatting within the file.
How to fix this problem: 1. Go to the file menu and click "Open."
2. In the Files of type list, click "Word documents", or "All files."
The Recover Text from Any File setting will persist until you switch it back to either "Word Documents" or "All Files."
