I’m worried the guy I’ve been casually dating is gay. My first impression when I saw him was, “He’s gay.” I met him on a night out in a college town where all men usually wear jeans, t-shirts, and Nikes. He was wearing checkered/plaid shorts, a shirt with a design, sandals and a fedora. The guy friend I was with thought he was gay too so both of us were very surprised when he asked for my number.

He’s into fashion and decorating things. He told me that his lady friends would always come to him when they needed advice on clothes so he would go shopping with them.

We’ve now been casually dating for about 2 months and yes, I told him that I thought he was gay. He told me that he has been asked many times if he was gay and even approached by gay men but insisted he was a straight man. I still fear that the only reason why he’s denying his sexuality is because of his religion. His family is very religious and his country even beats gays to death. I’m afraid that I may start getting attached to him and then later find out I was just a cover up. What do you think about this situation?

I feel stupid in college. Growing up I was always told that I was intelligent and I believed so myself. I was a straight A student with honor classes and even now in college I’m still in honors. BUT, I feel stupid! My intended major is psychology yet I’m not doing as good as I thought I would in the class (Psychology 101). The first exam I took I earned a 70%, second exam 78%, and the last exam (which I took today) I earned a 78%. There are other students in class who have gotten A’s in all tests and here I am with psychology as my major and doing very poorly. I’m started to think that I really am stupid or maybe have ADHD. The thing is that I don’t know what else to major in. I really would like to become a psychologist for adolescents and children. Did you ever go through something like this with your major? Did you feel stupid in college?

I agree that people need to date A LOT before they get married so that they know what's out there. For example, Tyler Perry's Temptation movie the main characters met very young, married and then the wife cheated on her husband because she was curious to know what it would be like to be with another man. So do you believe that people should date around a lot before getting married? Or should you limit yourself to only a few?

Should I rent an apartment on campus or stay at home?

So next year I will be transferring to a university from a community college. I’ll be 20 years old by then. I would like to know your opinion on whether I should stay at home with my parents or move into an apartment on campus. Here are the pro’s and con’s of moving into an apartment:

Apartment Pros:

-I will be in walking distance from school

- I will meet new people (I’m such an introvert and don’t have many friends)

- Everyone has told me that it will be a good experience

- I can finally become independent (I’m the baby in my family so I’m pretty much pampered at home)

Apartment Cons:

- I will have to pay rent (I don’t have to pay ANY bills at home)

- I will have to get a full job

Staying at home Pros:

- Don’t have to pay any bills

Staying at home Cons:

- I don’t get along with my sister and my older brother might move back in with us soon

- I would have to drive 20 minutes to get to school

- My parents don’t like it when my friends come over

Parents should be charged for the crimes committed by their children because it is their responsibility to establish awareness of what actions are acceptable and which actions are not.

Have you ever felt lied to because the chick you were dating looked nothing like she did with makeup on?

For those that don't know, she admitted to saying the "N word" in the past. She got fired off Food Network, Target and Home Depot. The media has also been bashing her ever since.

I honestly think that they went overboard. Everyone that I know has said the N word more than once, including myself. Now that I'm older I understand that it shouldn't be said therefore I have stopped. The only reason why they've made such a big deal is because she's white.

Was this a legitimate reason to fire her?

A few months back I overheard a conversation between two African American girls at school. ‘GIRL A’ referred to ‘GIRL B’ as an African American. To my surprise, ‘GIRL B’ got very upset. She stated that she wasn’t born in Africa therefore she wasn’t “AFRICAN AMERICAN”, that she was only Black. I told a couple of my African American friends about this conversation and they all told me that girl was wrong. Anywho, is it more appropriate to say “African American” or “Black”?
