Microsoft Word 2007 help!!!!?

Everytime I attempt to download a document, the words get all messed up and show up as symbols. I will thank you forever if you know how to fix this. I have an important document I need to open.

Newer versions of M$ Word use .docx files instead of .doc. You can get a converter from Microsoft, or upgrade to a current version, or use Open Office.

Using the little amount of info you provided, it appears that either 1 of 2 things is going on:

    1) you have Word 2003 trying to open a Word 2007 document. Word 2003 will not open Word 2007 unless you install the compatibility pack for Word 2003.

    2) you are trying to open a document with Word that is not a Word file

Without any more information from you, it's difficult to troubleshoot

The document your downloading is probably not opening with Microsoft Word, but with note pad. After you download the file, put it on desktop and open up Microsoft Word. After you open it up, click open and navigate to the file you just put on desktop.

If this don't work I'd be gladly to see the document myself to see if somethings wrong with it.

Feel free to send it to: streetsmartsfan2006@yahoo.com.

Edit: The name of the file ends in "PDF" trying using Adobe Reader to open instead of word.

Is it encrypted? if not there's probably a problem with the download. Download the file again or ask the sender to send a new copy

Hi, hopefully this link may help you. It is possible that the default for your "Files of Type" setting is incorrect.

That is the drop down box that appears when you select which file you wish to open.

    Hope this helps!
