Grammarians: how do you cope with YA's "lot of punctuation" messages?
What I mean, is the phenomenon wherein YA, upon a person writing a question or answer, so often chimes in with some kind of message suggesting you have "a lot" (or something) of punctuation. I'm wondering if there are many at all of us who "don't" find those messages inappropriate. Why does YA so often do this? By the way, when I wrote out this question, promptly up came the following in a pop-up box: "Hmm [sic]...it looks like you have a lot of punctuation."

Knowing that I'm more literate than the Yahoo chimps helps me to "process" (read "ignore") their advice.

No. This isn't a exceptional. It is a fixed penalty. Thus it's not protected through the bill of Rights 1689. The inspiration of a fixed penalty is that it is a manner of shopping your self out of prosecution for a minor offence. For those who do not pay it within the certain time, you will be summoned to the magistrates' court charged with the offence and they are going to be in a position to convict and satisfactory you. And the pleasant will undoubtedly be greater than in the event you'd simply coughed up £60 within the first position. Plus, a constant penalty doesn't appear to your crook document. A exceptional does. Pleasant are attempting, but sorry, if it was once certainly "illegall and void" the courts would have seen by using now! Edit - sure, the invoice of Rights remains to be in drive (although amended - the phase in regards to the monarch now not being allowed to be married to "a papist" was repealed simplest final month) but as i've said, that is inappropriate. You have not been fined but. I repeat, you have got been offered a constant penalty rather to going to court docket.

Yeah, it bugs me. Any time I use quotation marks appropriately, YA says I'm using too much punctuation. I just ignore it. The problem on here as I see it is NOT ENOUGH punctuation, although i am semi-sympathetic to those who are writing on their cell phones, as it is tricky to put in the punctuation.

After it told me I have either 57 spelling mistakes or a 'lot of punctuation' in a sentence of ten words or less I learnt to ignore it.
