Changing windows 8 to windows 7?
I bought a brand new desk top computer today. It has windows 8 on it. I also have a copy of windows 7 64 bit (Legit copy. Bought and paid for) that I am using on the computer I'm on right now. Can I use the copy of windows 7 that I have already bought for this computer on the new computer I bought today? Or do I have to buy another copy of 7?
Doesn't say on the box if it's retail or OEM. My best guess would be retail because I bought it from Tiger Direct.

Yes you can if your copy if a retail version. It can be used on only one computer at a time, but it can be used as many times as you want.If your copy of windows 7 is a OEM version then the answer is no it can only be used on one computer,it can not be transferred. If you have the box it came it it should say if it's a retail version or OEM version. You can also find the information in the system information on your windows 7 computer.

First of all windows 8 actually makes some stuff faster than windows 7. So i recommend you keep windows 8 on there. Plus its all so slowly growing and getting better so in a years time it should be really good. But if you dont like windows 8 ever you can use the same windows 7 64 bit like 4 times before it locks and makes it so you cant use it anymore.

You must buy another copy of Windows 7 for use on your new desktop computer.
