SR22 Insurance is common in TN. It is more expensive, because of all the paperwork that needs to be submitted to the state. You really need to not allow it to cancel, consider placing this bill as a top priority above other utilities. There are huge penalties for not keeping this coverage and driving at all.

You just need to talk to your agent and they will fix you up with the right paperwork and coverage.

State minimum coverage is just what everyone is required to have. If you get stopped by police without this coverage no matter who you are, you will be in trouble.

The SR22 form is a PROOF of insurance filed with the state by the insurance company when required, usually by a court.

As to whether or not it costs extra, ask your insurance company.
