You should be having sex during ovulation which usually occurs between days 10 and 14 of your menstrual cycle, with the first day of your period counting as day 1. By day 20, or roughly 8 days before your period is due, your egg will have passed through your system and you cannot become pregnant.

Probably not you need to have sex earlier than that a week before your period is not really enough time for fertilisation and implantation to occur start mid way through your cycle. Start alittle before 2 weeks before your expected period and go from there. But there is always a chance. You should chart your cycles and ovulation. Buy the opk kits.

I'm not an expert at pregnancy nor have I ever been pregnant or tried this but have sex everyday before your period starts. It may not even start at all within eight days.

Possibly, the closer you get to right before your period, the better chance you have of conceiving. Just keep having unprotected sex and you will eventually get pregnant.
