Thoughts on the Shawshank Redemption?

I don't care what people think. First of all, that movie deserves a number one spot. That being said, is it the best movie of all time? Well, that's a difficult question. Movies like Godfather were equally awesome.

As far as teenagers giving Dark Knight a rating of 9 thus putting it on the top is not completely true. The movie was first of all not like the other superhero movies we have seen. This one was a masterpiece, and its one of my all time favorite movies and I would gladly rate it alongside Shawshank Redemption. Those who say Sawshank Redemption is boring doesn't know anything about movies and are only here to watch action or romance. They are missing out on the great plots such movies have to offer.

I agree that it's one of the most amazing movies ever made, and I agree about its position as #1, I think it deserves that spot. I saw it as an adult, and love it as an adult. Dark Knight is, if you ask me, overrated. It deserves to be on the top 250 list, just not nearly that high.

But just because a movie is the #1 highest rated on the site, doesn't mean it's the "best." Technically, there is no "best." Just favorites and highest rated. That's it. It's mostly about opinion.

Yeah, most guys say it's the best. And I believe the majority of IMDB users are male.

I think it's a great movie. I don't have a problem with it being ranked #1, but I kind of think it's impossible to really say what the greatest movie of all time is, there's so many that are unique and great for different reasons to different people and for different moods.

I'm a chick and it's still one of my favorite movies of all time. I just watched it lastnite and will watch soon probably. Screw the not enough romance part. Every part of it was amazing and left me fulfilled. Each and everytime I watch it. Perfect movie.

next to the breakfast club and the godfather this is my favorite movie. perfectly written.
