    You CAN get previous generation Pokemon in the game before the National Dex via the online DreamWorld. However, you won't see it in the Pokedex at all. After you beat N and the new areas of the game are accessible, you'll start to see more Pokemon from previous generations and fill up the Dex, and be able to see them on the GTS.

    The GTS will be made avalible once you have beaten at least one gym leader.
