Two basic math questions? (Percentage)?

If something is originally $10, how much would it be if it's 25% off?

How much would it be if it was $5 and 25% off?

I think I got the answer, but I just want to be sure.

    easy just do

    25/100 ((25%)) x 10 = 2.5

    10 - 2.5 = $7.5

Same logic applies to the $5

    1).

    If something is originally $10,

how much would it be if it's 25% off?

    It will be $7.50

    2).

How much would it be if it was $5 and 25% off?

    It will be $3.75

    25% of $10 = (25/100)*10 = 10/4 = $2.50

    $10 - $2/50 = $7.50

    If you take the $5 off first then (25/100)*(10 - 5) = 5/4 = $1.25

    $10 - $6.25 =$3.75

    25% * 10 = 250/100 = $2,5

    Because of 25% off,then $10 - $2,5 = $7,5

    ------------------------------------------------------------------

    If $5 and 25% off

    25% * 5 = 125/100 = $1,25

    Because of 25% off,then $5 - $1,25 = $3,75
