Need suggestions on setting up a remote connection to a network.?

We would like to let our office manager run the main office computer from a remote location across the net. Have looked at GoToMyPC, LogMeIn and some others but much confusion remains.

The remote will have to be able to print to office printers as well as run all programs.

Questions keep cropping up about set up and bandwidth requirements.

We originally had 3 months to get this going but now it's down to a week - best laid plans.....

May need to hire help to get it done quickly.

Any suggestions would be helpful and sincerely appreciated.

Allow remote connections to the computer you want to access.

Make sure Remote Desktop is able to communicate through your firewall.

Find the IP address of the computer on your home network that you want to connect to.

Open your router's configuration screen and forward TCP port 3389 to the destination computer's IP address.

Find your router's public IP address so that Remote Desktop can find it on the Internet.

Open Remote Desktop Connection and connect.

    Check out team viewer

by the way you can use VPN which is not convenient

Port forwarding is easy but make sure you set up a strong password on your computer, when you do port forwarding everybody can connect to you remotely if they know your IP and username password

a friend's business has been using logmein for at least two years.

it allows the remote computer to take control of the main office computer and function just as if the remote operator was right there so, of course, printing, saving, etc. work just fine.
